Baideko advises the shareholders of Mecod, a Murcian company specializing in vehicle inspection services, on the sale of 90% of its shares to the Portuguese multinational Grupo Controlauto.

Founded in 2018 and based in the Region of Murcia, Mecod owns and operates a vehicle inspection center in the town of Yecla. With a team of 24 employees, Mecod’s inspection center is the third largest in the Region of Murcia and also serves customers from the neighbouring regions of Valencia and Castilla-La Mancha.

Controlauto Group, owned by the Portuguese group Brisa and the Spanish private equity firm Portobello Capital, is pursuing a growth strategy in the vehicle inspection sector following its acquisition of PrevenControl in 2024. The acquisition of Mecod represents an excellent opportunity for Controlauto to further expand its footprint in Spain, thanks to the strategic location of the center and its established customer base, strengthening the group’s presence in the Spanish market.
